My kids are having their O and A levels. The other day, after O Level Chemistry paper 2, my students told me they handled the paper really well and I just felt SO PROUD =) I was like.. o.O this is how it feels like to be a mum!

I was so glad they did well, and I really hope they'll get great results! A1s all the way ♥

Yesterday, at Jurong East, ZC and I were waiting for the bus when we saw an old man fall down in the middle of the road and was unable to get up. Without hesitating we quickly crossed the road to get to him... I saw a few cars pass by but they didn't stop to help him.

When we reached, a car with a couple inside stopped and the man (A) got down and called 995. Another uncle ( B) and a young lady came to help too... we managed to get the uncle to the bus stop. He was conscious but he was breaking out in cold sweat. He kept insisting he wanted to go home but we refused to let him go without a checkup. We asked for his family's phone number but he said no one was home.

The couple in the car u turned and came back to talk to the uncle who fell down. I was quite surprised as they have already done what they could! Yet they came back to see if he was okay. The other uncle (B) stayed for a while but said he had to go... he gave the guy (A) his namecard and told him he'd pay if the old uncle needed to pay for any medical bills after going to the hospital.

ZC and I as well as the couple just waited with the old man till the ambulance arrived. They did a thorough checkup, then said his heart is not doing very well (I couldn't hear the details) and told him to go to the hospital for further checkups. The uncle kept refusing and insisting it was just some muscle weakness but in the end we managed to persuade him to go.

This was the first time I've ever witnessed something like this, and I realised how clueless I am in such situations. I seriously did not know what to do! Thank God for the other people who were there and were more calm and collected. I was so worried about the uncle, because I feel he could have fell due to other reasons other than muscle weakness =( And it's so dangerous to fall in the road! I shudder to think what could have happened. I'm so glad he went for a checkup because he really might not be so lucky the next time =(

I was really horrified at the cars that didn't stop to help him.. but I was so encouraged by the other people I met. The couple who called 995 and spent their time waiting with him, the girl who crossed the road to help him, the uncle who offered to pay for his medical bill.....

Singapore is really not as cold as people say. Truly blessed to have met some kind people today ♥
